NCBA Group PLC posted a profit after tax of KSh 16.4 billion for the third quarter of 2025.
This represents an 8.5% increase from KSh 15.1 billion in the same period of 2024. The group’s profit before tax increased by 11.1% to KSh 20.5 billion, driven by a 13.8% rise in operating income to KSh 53.4 billion.
Operating expenses increased by 14% to KSh 27.9 billion, with credit loss provisions rising 24.5% to KSh 5.1 billion.
The growth was driven by strong profitability, improved asset quality, prudent management of the cost of funding, and better asset quality, along with improved performance from subsidiaries and digital lending initiatives.
While announcing the results, NCBA ‘s Group Managing Director, John Gachora, said, “We are pleased to announce our financial results for the third quarter of 2025, marked
by strong growth in profitability, resilient NPL coverage of 68.9 per cent, dynamic
subsidiary performance and continued focus on making our customers’ lives easier in a
broadly stable operating environment.”
The Kenyan subsidiary was the main profit driver, contributing 82% of profit before tax, while regional subsidiaries and non-banking subsidiaries also showed significant positive contributions.
Despite income growth, customer deposits declined by 5.3% to KSh 488 billion, and total assets dropped 2% to KSh 665 billion due to pricing adjustments and softer lending activities.
