NCBA bank through Purple Royal Auctioneers have listed several properties owned by Kisumu trader George Otieno Otwal for auction.

The sale targeting land and residential areas in Kisumu and Siaya counties originates from a Ksh109.5M loan taken by Otwal’s Asembo Soko limited.

Otwal, previously had indicated that he defaulted on the loan due to demolition by Kisumu County Government. In February 2025, Otwal received a temporary 90-day injunction, while admitting that he had borrowed the loan and defaulted.

In October last year, Otwal’s wife Lilian Anyango Otieno moved to court to stop the planned auction arguing that she was never gave consent to charge their properties. However, this was dismissed by the court in November of the same year paving way to the auction.
