Three African startups have been awarded $15,000 at the inaugural Verto Awards 2025, celebrating high-impact ventures in use of technology in agriculture, health and climate issues.

Grofunder Africa Ltd, a peer-to-peer agri-financing platform, won the top prize of $10,000 for expanding financial access for smallholder farmers.

Train Your Brain (TYB), a digital mental health platform, took the 1st Runner-Up spot with $3,000, while Green Voyage, a climate-tech company enabling carbon offset management, earned $2,000 as 2nd Runner-Up.

The competition drew applicants from Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa, with judges recognising the finalists for innovation, scalability, and social impact.

Verto CEO Ola Oyetayo praised the winning startups for building practical, technology-driven solutions that address Africa’s most urgent challenges in agriculture, mental health, and climate action.
