CBK lowers CBR by a further 25 basis points

Bridgette AtienoBy Bridgette AtienoFebruary 10, 2026No Comments1 Min Read

The Monetary Policy Committee of the CBK has lowered the benchmark rate CBR by a further 25 basis points.

The committee says the decision will buffer previous actions aimed at stimulating lending by banks.

This now lowers the rate to 9 percent ahead of the full implementation of the Risk-Based Credit Pricing Model (RBCPM).
