Truphena Muthoni will be the Ambassador of the 15 Billion Tree Planting Campaign.
President William Ruto has announced after awarding her the Head of State Commendation (HSC) Award for her dedication to environmental conservation.
The President announced via his social media shortly after meeting Truphena at the State House in Nairobi, where he commended her environmental conservation efforts.
This comes days after she hugged a tree for 72 hours, pending approval from Guinness World Records.
The Monday morning meeting saw President William Ruto award Truphena and her team a fully sponsored holiday experience by the Kenya Wildlife Service and the Kenya Tourism Board.

Through the Ministry of Environment, Truphena will also get a chance to visit Brazil, which was her dream, to broaden her exposure to global environmental conservation initiatives.
In April this year, Truphena broke a 48-hour World Record after hugging an indigenous tree as part of her efforts in the protection of nature and the environment.
