Allan Kilavuka is set to exit his role as managing director and ceo of Kenya Airways.
In a notice issued by the board, Kilavuka will proceed on a terminal leave, pending the expiry of his contract.
KQ board has indicated that Capt George Kamal, current chief operating officer, will step up into the role.
”The board will concurrently initiate the process to competitively recruit a substantive appointment to the position,” reads the notice from the airline.
Kilavuka has been at the helm of the airline for six years and is credited with piloting it during the turbulent Covid-19 period.
