Absa Bank Kenya has announced a Ksh4M support to Sunshine Development Tour-East Africa. The support by the lender will cover the 9th and 10th legs of the tour slated for Thika Greens Golf Club and Karen Country Club this month.
Charles Wokabi, Absa Bank Kenya head of sustainability and corporate affairs says the sponsorship is part of their commitment to grow golf in Kenya.
”Our support for these final two events is part of our promise to unlocking local talent at pivotal moment, ensuring players have the right platforms to grow and compete,” said Wokabi.
Launched in 2025, the Sunshine Development Tour is designed to address gaps that exist in regional golf tourneys.
”We are seeing golfers improve their world ranking, gain exposure and compete with real purpose,” noted Peter Gicheru, CEO IMG Kenya, the curators of the tournament.
Two legs of the tour will be played between 14th to 16th January in Thika and 19th and 21st January in Karen.
